Die 100 reichsten Menschen Schottlands 2017

Der kumulierte Vermögenszuwachs der 100 reichsten Bürger Schottlands laut „The Sunday Times Rich List 2017“ beträgt gegenüber dem Vorjahr 9 Prozent. Zusammen besitzen die 100 reichsten Menschen Schottlands ein Vermögen von £ 32.7 Milliarden. In der diesjährigen Ausgabe gibt es zehn £ Milliardäre. Wer es auf die Liste schaffen möchte, muss mindestens ein Vermögen von £ 80 Millionen vorweisen können. 2009 reichte dafür noch ein Vermögen von £ 40 Millionen.
Die aktuelle Reichenliste zeigt, dass auch in der schottischen Wirtschaft der Aufwärtstrend bei der Diversifizierung anhält. Mittlerweile kann man nicht nur mit Öl oder als Großgrundbesitzer, sondern auch mit Whisky, Mineralwasser oder als Autohändler £ Milliardär werden.
Auf Rang 1 im Ranking der reichsten Menschen Schottlands steht mit einem Vermögen von £2.37 Milliarden die Grant-Gordon Whisky Familie. Auf Rang 2 wird mit £1.7bn Milliarden der ehemalige Harrods Eigentümer Mohamed Al Fayed und Familie geführt. Platz 3 geht mit £1.67 Milliarden an den arabischen Geschäftsmann Mahdi al- Tajir (Eigentümer von Highland Spring – Mineralwasser).
